DISTRICT CENTRAL LIBRARY, PERAMBALUR
The Perambalur District Central Library was initially started as a branch library in 10.12.1955. Then upgrade on 02.01.2001 as the District Central Library.
The Building area of this library is 5112 square feet. This library building was constructed at a cost of Rs.68,75,000. The Library has been running since 13.09.2008 in the new building. The library working hours are from 8.00 A.M. to 8.00 P.M.
The Toal number of books in this libray is 1,28,704. There are tamil, English and Hindi books,
The Total number of members in this library is 13,850. The readers attendance is an average of 250 per day. On average 125 books are lending, and 350 books per day are read in the library.
The 13 Tamil daily news papers, 3 English news papers and 72 magazines are being bought.
